Welcome to my Web site! This is where you can learn more about me and the Boulder City Art Guild. As the picture above tells, I am close to the dreaded beast called Cancer. I am a cancer survivor (bladder, 1994) and Eva fought and won her battle with Colon Cancer (1996) but lost her battle with Breast Cancer (1999). Her story can be found on the Colon Cancer Alliance site http://www.cca.org.
Also of interest I served in the U.S.A.F. for 22 years spanning the Korean and Viet Nam eras and retired in 1973. I was stationed all over but my oversea duties kept me in the Pacific arena (Japan, Philippines, Alaska and Hawaii). 18 years of my life was spent in Anchorage, Alaska...partly with the Air Force and the last 7 years as a civilian after retirement. I managed Gallery 20, a cooperative gallery of 20 members. A second location was opened and I had to be "gofer" for 40 artists. Then we moved to Boulder City and opened a Print Shop in 1980. We sold it in 1992 and I volunteered to help mange the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the Boulder Dam Hotel.

September 11, 2001 was a real downer for me and several million others. The feeling of the loss of Eva struck all over again on that day. It seemed the entire nation felt the same thing...and I guess we did!

I was so busy with things I have no time to paint anymore. Some of my artwork is shown here but its from previous times. My photography is a bit easier for me primarily because I am totally into digital photography and can print my pictures on my computer immediately without the film developing and all the chemicals of a "wet" darkroom as photographers refer to the "old way."

I have purchased several professional digital cameras and have been shooting some landscapes, tourist favorites and weddings. Some examples are in the Photo Gallery on this site. I have a small digital (Canon 1000) and use it more than the big ones. It is easer to carry around and shoots beautiful pictures.

I am a life member of the Boulder City Art Guild  served on the Board as Advertising and Public Relations Director. Also as their Business Manager which I enjoyed until moving the Texas in 2009.

The Guild has a gallery in the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona Street, Boulder City, Nevada. They're right in the center of town 1 block from the Post Office, two blocks from City Hall and a half block off of Nevada Way (old Highway 93). The hotel also offers a terrific Museum about the people who built Boulder (Hoover) Dam, great museum shop, other unique shops, fine restaurant and bar, offices and a 22 room bed and breakfast. You can come, take a room, eat and drink, shop, enjoy the museum, shop, and did I mention shopping?

The gallery has a nice Gift Shop with creations by member artists in the gallery. The gallery is a co-op of members of the Guild and there is always an artist on duty. I'm happy to say they still carry a line of my photo Postcards for 10 cents each!
